Let's give each other clothes for a skiing vacation. None of us had skied before and this was going to be our Christmas. Sue and I thought it was a great idea because we could enjoy our boys as a close family before they were off doing their thing after graduation or involvement with a young lady of their choice. My gift to the family was to rent a motor home and give them the vacation together. We had a Pomeranian puppy that was included in this adventure. We went to Peak and Peak in New York and had a fantastic time. We left the day after Christmas and came home the day after New Years Day. We lived in Peak and Peaks parking lot and participated in all of their guest events including New Years Day. Everyone got to know us as the guests out on the parking lot. My sons had no difficulty having company on New Years Eve.Tom Ryannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-837201606358940799.post-60877358686353073552014-12-25T22:42:25.548-06:002014-12-25T22:42:25.548-06:00We just talked to another couple this week who go ...We just talked to another couple this week who go on a vacation (and take their kids) every other year and that is their Christmas present, save one to open. A life of adventure vs. a life of tradition is difficult for us to reconcile. The kids did tell us afterward that it was not the same without us there and I think the extended time with grandparents wasn't quite what they thought it might be, but otherwise, we all survived. We do have understanding children. We teach them that it's okay to be free spirits and not follow the rules of expectancy sometimes. Hopefully, that teaching doesn't bite us in the butt someday! Hope you and yours had a wonderful holiday, Tom Ryan! Thanks for stopping by to read today.Cindy Brownhttp://www.everydayunderwear.com/noreply@blogger.com
